TITAN SHARRCEM Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness Through Pink October Initiative
Full Story
Bringing together community voices, medical expertise, and personal experiences, TITAN SHARRCEM organized a Pink October panel discussion to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, early detection, and collective support for women’s health.
On 26 October 2026, TITAN SHARRCEM brought together around 150 women at the Culture Hub in Hani i Elezit for a panel discussion dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The event
welcomed female employees of TITAN SHARRCEM and women from the local community, creating a space for open dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and reflection on an issue that continues
to affect women and families across society.
The discussion brought together distinguished voices from public life, civil society, healthcare, and local institutions, each contributing a valuable perspective on the importance of awareness,
prevention, and early detection.
The panel featured Atifete Jahjaga, former President of Kosovo and founder of the Jahjaga Foundation, who has been an advocate for women’s health and breast cancer awareness; Nafije
Latifi, founder of the Kosovo Breast Cancer Association JETA/VITA, who shared her perspective as a survivor and reflected on the challenges of addressing breast cancer at a time
when the subject was still widely considered taboo; Dr. Shkëndije Nuza, a radiology specialist, who highlighted the importance of recognizing potential warning signs, understanding risk
factors, attending regular medical check-ups, and seeking timely medical advice; and Kimete Kuka Hasallari, Director of Health and Social Welfare at the Municipality of Hani i Elezit, who
represented the role of local institutions in supporting community health and well-being.
The event also featured remarks by Mehmet Ballazhi, Mayor of Hani i Elezit, who joined the initiative in support of raising awareness and encouraging continued attention to women’s health.
Through the combination of personal testimony, medical expertise, and institutional perspectives, the discussion reinforced an essential message: early detection and access to reliable information
can make a meaningful difference. It also highlighted the importance of creating an environment in which women feel encouraged to seek information, attend medical check-ups, and speak
openly about their health without stigma or hesitation.
For TITAN SHARRCEM, the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to caring for its people and contributing positively to the communities in which it operates. Alongside its
community engagement dimension, the event formed part of the company’s employee well-being activities, connecting workplace care with broader efforts to promote awareness, inclusion, and
healthier communities.
At TITAN SHARRCEM, we believe that building a sustainable future begins with people. Supporting initiatives that encourage awareness, prevention, and solidarity is one way we can
contribute to a healthier and more informed society. While Pink October provides an important opportunity to bring these conversations to the forefront, the message remains relevant
throughout the year.
TITAN SHARRCEM extends its sincere appreciation to all speakers, the Municipality of Hani i Elezit, and everyone who took part in the initiative and helped make this important conversation
possible.
