Full Story

The visit aimed to provide students with a practical understanding of the cement production processes at SHARRCEM, with a special focus on laboratory operations and safety protocols. This hands-on experience was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world industrial applications, enhancing students’ educational and professional development.

The visit was structured into several key segments, each providing the students with detailed information and practical demonstrations related to SHARRCEM’s operations.

Introduction in the Laboratory and Laboratory Facilities:

Cement Production Process: Students were briefed on the complete cement production line, including raw material processing, clinker production, and final cement grinding.
Quality Control: Detailed information was provided on the quality control processes that raw materials, semi-finished products, and final products undergo. The emphasis was on ensuring product consistency and meeting industry standards
Instrumental Laboratory: The SHARRCEM staff demonstrated how the cement production process is monitored and controlled using various instruments.
Physic-Mechanical Laboratory: Students learned about the tests conducted to measure the physic-mechanical parameters essential for cement testing. This included demonstrations of how samples are taken from key control points during production and their subsequent treatment in the laboratory.
Sample Preparation: A hands-on demonstration was provided on the treatment and preparation of a selected sample for measurement in the instrumental laboratory. This step-by-step demonstration was an integral part of the students’ case study project.

Safety and Health Training:

Occupational Safety and Health Measures: The Safety and Health department conducted a short training session on the safety protocols and health measures implemented at SHARRCEM. The training also covered general workplace safety, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

Environmental Protection Measures:

The students were briefed on the various environmental protection measures implemented by SHARRCEM. This included discussions on sustainable practices and the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint through innovative techniques and stringent compliance with environmental regulations.

Factory Tour:

Walkthrough of the Factory: The visit concluded with a guided tour of the factory, where students were able to observe different parts of the facility. They learned about the roles and functions of various sections within the factory, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how each part contributes to the overall production process.
