In observance of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024, students from the Center of Competence in Ferizaj embarked on a journey to the Sharrcem company, orchestrated by the KOSHA NGO. This immersive experience was designed to acquaint students with the rigorous health and safety standards upheld by Sharrcem, provide insights into cement production processes, highlight environmental protection measures, and offer a glimpse into the company’s laboratory operations.
The visit commenced with an informative presentation by Sharrcem representatives of Health and Safety department, highlighting the company’s robust health and safety protocols. Students gained insights into the importance of adhering to safety regulations in the workplace and learned about the measures implemented by Sharrcem to ensure the well-being of its employees.
Following Health and Safety measures, students were also introduced to Sharrcem’s production processes by the Production Manager, where they learned about various stages of cement manufacturing.
Moreover, students had the opportunity to explore Sharrcem’s laboratory, where they observed and got information about the various processes and machines used for conducting cement quality control. This hands-on experience provided students with valuable insights into quality assurance.
Furthermore, the representative of KOSHA NGO granted certificates of recognition to Sharrcem’s Health and Safety Department manager, Bujar Aliu, and Health and Safety Supervisor, Suad Bushi, which serves as a testament to the company’s exemplary commitment to safety and employee well-being.
