Sharrcem is awarded by CSR Europe

Brussels, June 25 – The representative of the company Sharrcem, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, and the representatives of Kosovo CSR Network, attended the great ceremony of the European Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Brussels. After being awarded with the CSR award in Kosovo, the representative of Sharrcem was invited to Brussels along with 63 other winners from different European countries, recognized as the winners of the European CSR Award.
Sharrcem was awarded with the European Award for CSR by the Vice President of the European Commission Antonio Tajani, where together with business representatives from 30 European countries celebrated their achievements at a special ceremony held in Brussels. Vice President of the European Commission, Antonio Tajani, gave the European award for CSR to Sharrcem in the presence of high ranking officials and representatives of European companies, whereby rewarding the contributions of companies that through the application of CSR principles, demonstrated their commitment to the society.

Present at the ceremony was also the Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Trade and Industry, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, who stated that the economic benefits of receiving the European award for CSR are of a high importance for Kosovo, by competing with the most renowned companies in Europe. She also recommended for Kosovo companies to integrate CSR principles into their business, by considering CSR as a senior investment.

Managing Director of Sharrcem, Emmanuel Mitsou, was present at the ceremony held in Brussels, since the company was selected as the most responsible company towards the community and society, with the project “Local Independent Advisory Board.”

Mitsou expressed his pleasure that Sharrcem’s contribution towards the Kosovar community was evaluated by the European CSR Network, stating that Sharrcem is willing to initiate and support projects that benefit the Kosovar society, and therefore, the company will continue to implement the same practices in the future as well.
